Building Creation Standards

Walls

1.

WALL JOINS

​

All outer facing wall joints must be set to 'Mitre joints' in Revit.

 

 

2.

EXTERIOR TO INTERIOR WALLS

 

Walls shown on the floor plan that appear to extend from inside to outside shoud be split. This is done so that a material can be comfortably added to each portion.

(Interior material would not show on the exterior and vice versa)

3.

BASE CONSTRAINTS & FOUNDATION WALLS

​

Foundation walls must always be created with the base of foundation wall set to a minimum of negative Three feet (-5'-0")

​

Do NOT set the Base Constraint of Ground Floor walls to act as foundation walls.

​

Instead, use Wall Extensions to achieve this. See tutorials to learn how to unlock and edit Revit Wall Extensions.

 

 

 

4.

TOP CONSTRAINT

​

Top Constraint of Walls should be set to the floor directly above unless absolutely necessary. This allows for ease of verification of accuracy of wall positioning.
