FLOOR
1.
POSITIONING

Floor slabs must be drawn to the inside surface of the wall in plan view and should only project out past the outer surface of the wall at the door openings only.

Projection amount = 2 inches
2.
INCORRECT USE

-
Never use Floor slabs as Foundation walls
-
Never use Floor slabs for Roofs
ROOF
1
CREATING CUSTOM ROOF ELEMENTS

Do not use walls / floors to create roof elements.

The 'Create Component - Model in place' function should be used if there are any elements with unusual shapes.
2
ROOF MATERIAL THICKNESS

The outer surface that can be seen represents the outer-most roof finish. This should not be more than one inch thick. If the roof structure is required, this is then added below the 1inch thick roof object.
Most modelling programs Revit, AutoCAD etc typically sets the default thickness to 8 inches or greater. This is done because they take into account the structure of the roof (rafters etc.)
rafter = 6 inches
ceiling finish = ~1 inch
outer roof finish = ~1 inch
Total = ~8 inches

Also...
Typically the fascia material is different from the colour of the roof. Reducing the roof thickness to 1 inch ensures that the colour of roof doesn't peek out below the fascia
